Why I Use a Deionizer for Spot-Free Window Cleaning

If you’ve ever cleaned your windows and noticed streaks or water spots afterward, you’re not alone. Most of the time, the problem isn’t your technique... It’s the water.

Here in Central Oregon, our tap water is full of minerals like calcium and magnesium. These minerals stay behind when the water dries, leaving those familiar cloudy spots or streaks on your glass. That’s where using a deionizer comes in.

A deionizer is a system that removes those minerals from the water before it ever touches your windows. That means when I rinse your glass, it dries clear with no spots, no streaks, no residue. Doesn't even need to be squeegeed.

It’s especially important for:

  • High windows that are hard to squeegee

  • Exterior glass exposed to the sun (which dries water faster and can leave more marks)

  • Post-construction cleans where there's already dust and debris to deal with

For me, it’s about doing the job right the first time. The deionized water lets me provide that crystal-clear, streak-free finish every customer deserves, whether it’s a small storefront or a full house of windows.
